{saturday at the shedd}
welcome to the shedd aquarium. its either the biggest aquarium in the united states, or the world. i think just the united states. its pretty fancy. i left early saturday morning on the train to beat the crowd. good thing i did to! people in line said they had been there for over an hour and still hadnt even made it inside the door.
who else feels like that sting ray is smiling? i swear it is.

disclaimer: please dont judge the self taken photos. when you go places alone, its just something that has to happen. self portraits are tacky..but im over it.
cutest penguins ever.
gorgeous beluga whales. i dont think i have ever seen one in real life until now.
meet the famous turtle of the aquarium. her name is nickel. she was rescued from florida after a boating accident where the prop hit her shell and badly damaged her back fins. she cant swim very well cause her back end floats and her back fins cant move. she got her name because when she was rescued she had a nickel lodged in her throat. she is the main attraction and im pretty sure she knows it. she'll slowly swim around the entire tank close to the glass where everyone can see her, disappear and take a break for a while, and do it again. it was so interesting to watch.
this is the view from the main entrance.
i had a good time wandering around and enjoyed all the exhibits. the baby sea otters were my favorite. photography wasnt allowed. bummer. they were so stinkin cute, i kind of want one. im glad i went, but i dont think it was worth 35 bucks.
